Description

Inspired by the breathtaking industrial architecture of abandoned Lime Kilns at Langcliffe, Limelight is an exhibition of new work by Textilia 3, a group of Yorkshire-based textile artists.

The story is one of transformation: turning the limestone rock into quicklime for agriculture, the industrialisation of the process in the shape of the majestic Hoffmann Kiln and then, once spent, the gradual reclamation of the site by nature. These themes and ideas of life cycles, regeneration and reclamation suffuse the artists’ work.
