Current building projects
With generous assistance from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England and Historic England we have been able to begin a comprehensive programme of repairs to The Folly, our Grade I listed building.
The Folly – Structural Repairs
Current Status: Funding of £270,501 allocated under the Arts Council England Museum Estates and Development (MEND) scheme – match funding secured with assistance from the Sylvia Waddilove Foundation, North Craven Heritage Trust and the Harold & Alice Bridges Charity.
Estimated Total Cost: £300,000
Phase I (completed in May 2022):
Stabilisation of the arch over the tower staircase
Phase 2 (beginning March 2023):
Repointing and glazing repairs to the rear and south elevations
Repointing and repair to tower
Repairs to roofs, roofing timbers, flashings and rainwater goods
Drainage repairs
Rebuilding of retaining wall to garden
Phase 3 (2024):
Repairs to internal plasterwork and main staircase
Redecoration
Garden Improvements
Redesign of pathways and planting to make better use of the space, with emphasis on safe access, sustainable methods and materials. New garden shed installed.
Current Status: Phase 2 in progress with support from the Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust; further funding required
